The model
Production capability
The production capability information is the collection of information about all
resources for production for selected times and within a selected site, area, process
cell, production unit, or production line.
This is made up of capability information about equipment, material, personnel,
and process segments.
It describes the names, terms, status, and quantities of which the manufacturing
control system has knowledge.
Production capability also defines the available capability, committed capability,
and unattainable capability of each resource, and each resource within a process
segment.
Production capability utilization
The production capability utilization information is the collection of historical
information about the utilization of resources.
This is made up of information about the utilization of equipment, material, personnel,
and process segments.
- Utilized capacity defines resources that were used in production of products within
acceptable quality limits.
- Unused capacity defines resource capacity that was not used in production.
- Unused capacity may have multiple components, or reasons for the unused capacity.
OEE
OEE is an abbreviation for the manufacturing metric Overall Equipment Effectiveness.
OEE takes into account the various sub components of the manufacturing process:
- Availability
- Performance
- Quality
After the various factors are taken into account the result is expressed as a percentage.
This percentage can be viewed as a snapshot of the current production efficiency
for a machine, line or cell.
OEE = Availability x Performance x Quality
Mdf - MES Development Framework
Mdf implement the classes of the Production Capability Model and of the Production
Capability Utilization Model.
Through a SQL Server stored function the OEE will be calculated per Equipment and
date range.
Composed OEE will be calculated for the equipment childs.
